GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs skilled motor vehicle operations.  Operated vans or automobiles for transporting consumers, personnel, supplies, mail, and other cargo.  May transport individuals with mental illness or who are in a mental health crisis.  Work is performed according to prescribed rules, regulations, and schedules.  Compliance with written and verbal instructions while adhering to prescribed safety procedures is an integral part of the position.  Maintains the upkeep of the company vehicles.  Will be responsible for monthly inspection reports required.  Attendance is essential, as individuals in services rely on transportation for key medical care.  May perform custodial duties in the MH Center and associated program area, as well as clerical/reception duties.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Center Director.  This position may serve as a back-up to the receptionist as deemed necessary.  May also assist in maintaining staff schedules, managing incoming/outgoing calls and correspondence.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:

High School graduate or GED.
Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Lives in Frio/LaSalle County.
Must have basic computer skills.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
Prior working experience with mental health.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

General knowledge of the operation, care, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment/tools.
Working knowledge of safety practices employed in housekeeping tasks.
Must be able to work off ladders and lift/move objects up to fifty pounds in weight.
Knowledge of light motor vehicle operation and traffic rules/regulations.
Ability to follow schedules for pick-ups and deliveries.
Must be able to understand/written instructions.
