GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Peer Recover Coach provides non-clinical services intended to aid patients in establishing recovery from high risk of dependent alcohol and drug use problems. This position will support individuals in the early stages of recovery by helping to remove barriers and obstacles for those new to the system of care. This is a non-clinical, strength-based peer-to-peer support service in which you will provide people with linkages to the recovery community. As a recovery coach you will serve as a personal guide and mentor and help individuals understand the system of care and how to navigate it. Work as part of the team to provide peer support and motivation to encourage patients who are seeking treatment for alcohol or drug dependency and addiction issues. Assist in completing referrals to treatment services and developing service plans to promote successful linkage to treatment services. Uses personal lived experience in recovery from a mental health or substance use condition to provide support to consumers in a clinical setting. Provides support in daily activities for individuals with substance abuse issues for mental health recovery. May conduct home and clinic face-to-face sessions. May provide daily life skills to residents, including information on self-care and hygiene. Assist consumers with linking to appropriate internal and external services (housing, employment, independent living, etc.), and navigating systems essential to recovery and growth. Ensures clinical documentation is submitted in accordance with CRCS’s standards and meets all designated requirements. Productivity standards are in place for this position. May be required to work evenings and some weekends. Performs other related duties as required to include participating in trauma-informed care training.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- The eligible candidate must be actively engaged in his/her own recovery program with a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated personal recovery and sustained abstinence from alcohol or drug use.
- Must maintain a valid drivers’ license and automobile insurance coverage.
- Must be able to pass a background check as well as random drug screenings.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Two (2) years of lived experience with substance abuse or mental health required.
- Training in trauma-informed care through class completion or other formal training.
- Must be able to travel as needed and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business.
- Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all state regulations and CRCS.
