GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Reimbursement Specialist will function under the supervision of the Reimbursement Director.  Tasks will include daily CARE reports distribution, will create access for new employees in multiple state databases, and will be responsible for daily batching of consumer data.  This position will also be responsible for reconciling inner agency billing reports, assist in appealing denied claims, follow up on pending commercial claims, and running and distributing BECA reports to outpatient clinics for review and corrections if needed.  Other clerical responsibilities will include distributing mail, assisting with streamline help tickets, and any additional duties assigned by Reimbursement Director and the executive management team.   This position will also serve as back up for everyone in the reimbursement department.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
 
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
  • Two (2) years’ experience of advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, database and navigating through programs on the internet.
  • Ability to work successfully with staff, management, and outside entities.
  • Must possess organizational and data entry skills, be able to work under pressure and in demanding situations.
  • :Experience entering data into an Electronic Health Record system.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Applicants who possess one or more of the following qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications are preferred:  Working knowledge of computer systems including software, departmental rules, regulations, procedures, and functions.
  • Submits required documentation and/or reports accurately and timely.
  • Knowledge of consumer data systems that will reduce manual effort and downtime.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards for IDD/Mental Health services governing state reporting.
  • Knowledge of data verification.
  • Knowledge of health-related accounting and collection procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team member positively and productively.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a creative, viable, and realistic manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
