GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Crisis Director, the LPHA will provide and coordinate transition treatment for individuals transitioning from or to the inpatient hospitals, crisis residential units, outpatient mental health clinics and substance abuse treatment facilities. LPHA will provide counseling services and complete client intake assessments to referred individuals in crisis and at the MH outpatient clinics. Performs complex social services work including case management, crisis intervention, diagnostic assessments, intake assessments, and skills training. This position involves communicating with a treatment team to develop the least restrictive, most effect plan of treatment based on the diagnosis and needs of the clients. LPHA will provide direct clinical supervision to non-licensed staff. Must participate in after-hours crisis consultation on-call rotation. This position will require travel throughout our 9-county service area to conduct marketing, outreach, and public relations tasks and education to our various stakeholders about mental health services and crisis services. Will require the ability to work changing shifts to include evenings, some weekend coverage, and be available to work a variable schedule at times and at variable locations. Will complete all other duties as assigned to assist CRCS in meeting its goals and objectives.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
Master’s Degree in counseling or social work.
Must have & maintain a current license in good standing in the State of Texas. Must be licensed as an LPC or LCSW.
Must be able to be credentialed through various insurance panels.
Four (4) years’ experience required as a licensed LPHA in social, behavioral, or human services, including diagnostics.
Must be CBT certified.
Crisis Intervention experience.
One-year experience working with dually diagnosed mental illness/substance abuse.
Credentialed as a LPC or LCSW Supervisor.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be CPT certified.
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
English/Spanish skills; demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
Reside in the service area.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of social work and/or counseling principles, theory, and methods.
Knowledge of applied behavioral science and evidenced-based practices in Psychology.
Knowledge in the area of enhancing social, psychosocial, or bio psychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
Good organizational skills and the ability to plan, develop, and implement consumer services.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other professional and individuals.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of social work and chemical dependency, anger management, grief, divorce, adoption, and the functioning of mental health hospitals and/or out-patient mental health clinics.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other professional groups, exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment when dealing with people, prepare reports and recommendations for administrative use.
Knowledge of the needs and characteristics associated with the target population.
Knowledge of local community resources, how to access those services and use them effectively.
Skills in performing assessments and developing a treatment plan for the individual.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently, organizes work efficiently, and responds to the changing needs of the individual.
Ability to work in a crisis.
Leadership abilities with the ability to identify problems/gaps in service.
Good organizational skills and the ability to plan, develop, and implement consumer services.
Ability to supervise the work of others and provide guidance to other staff.
Must have ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
