GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Performs complex data extraction and reporting for the agency’s federal and state reporting obligations under the direction of the Mental health Services Director.  This position will work with highly confidential data and must be able to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines.  Must be able to represent the agency at statewide meetings on a quarterly basis.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to accurately report data for special state reporting requirements that have been scrutinized for accuracy.  Must be able to work in a team setting that requires effective communication skills, ability to interface with different departments (i.e., accounting, reimbursement, quality management, etc.), the ability to take initiative, be open to feedback, and direct orders, and good organizational skills.  Job duties include preparing special reports on demand, routine reports on a scheduled basis, monitoring various databases and being part of a centralized team.  Demonstrates the ability to organize project tasks against project milestones and deliverables with minimal supervision.  Manages time to meet all project milestones and deliverable dates.  Escalates issues with task assignment and milestones appropriately.  By researching and preparing reports related to the various agency programs, this position will assist with utilization review and tracking of program and department productivity.  Other technical reports may be needed to include population health management and population trending, tracking, and reporting.  Will develop and present training materials to staff and assist with data entry.  Camino Real Community Services is committed to providing trauma-informed care, and all employees are required to undergo training in this area.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus five years’ work experience or a bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., business, finance, computer science, health information).
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and other databases (proficiency test in Microsoft Excel may be required.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish.
  • Three (3) years of experience with health information management, (i.e., data collection, tracking, reporting, and trending health related information.
  • Three (3) years’ work experience in a fast-faced customer service environment.

  • Ability to interface on a regular basis with personnel of varying levels and disciplines.

  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of query, reporting, spreadsheet, and database tools effectively to produce routine and complex outputs for users.
  • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced and therefore sometimes stressful environment and still maintain personal health and emotional stability.
